Uh oh makeover

Wyatt's blanket is called his "uh oh." Last night I decided it was time for the uh-oh to become much smaller. He carries it around a little too much for my tastes and it usually winds up dragging on the floor. It's also very very hot! So, I snuck in his room, grabbed it and gave it a little makeover. It's hard to tell in these pictures but it is now half the size it was! I'm quite the evil genius.

And then my heart exploded

She is exactly like me. Stubborn, strong, totally rotten. I know in 10 years it will take all of the prayer in the world for us not to kill each other. I know she will hate me and I know she will drive me crazy. I hope in those moments I remember what it felt like to hold her for the first time - It was the day before my 30th birthday and 12 days before we weren't sure she would survive delivery. All babies are miracles, I totally get that. But my baby girl came out kicking and screaming when it wasn't even certain that she would take a first breath. Now, 5 years later, I lose my own breath when I see her continue to kick through life. Stubborn, strong, and totally rotten!

It was "living museum" night at Christian's school. He was Sam Houston and he had to give a 60 second speech to the parents as they walked around. Honestly, I can't tell you much about Sam Houston - but apparently he was instrumental in helping the Cherokees with...well, something...i'm not sure. Anywho, we spent the majority of the week trying to get Christian to pronounce Cherokees correctly.

He did a fabulous job by the way!

I have a HUGE sewing project in the works right now. I can't give too many details because some of the recipients read this blog, but lets just say that I want it done by July 30th and I totally bit off more than I can chew. So, instead of giving you details about that project, I will tell you about the next one. This is a quilt top that came in my "Meemaw stash." It's hand pieced and we aren't 100% sure that Meemaw actually did it...could have been some other relative. Either way, I love it! I already have the backing piece picked out and it will be quilted soon!

Wyatt is getting really good at putting 2+ words together. Lately it is "Lay down daddy" at bedtime. Daddy laid down and 20 minutes later, when I walked in the room, this is what I saw:

I'm not feeling all that well today. My ears still hurt from my recent ear infection and now I have a sore throat on top of that. Good times! Pa was good enough to take Lucy to violin for me and Christian is entertaining Wyatt. Let's hope they are watching Elmo and not porn.
